yeah, it worked for me!
If this issue started for you with the new Origin update yesterday, even if you have successfully worked around it by disabling Origin In Game, it would be very helpful for us if you could reply with a link to your computer's DxDiag information to help diagnose the problem.
You can do this by following the steps below:
1. Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
2. You will see a Run box in the lower-left corner of your screen
3. Type dxdiag in the text field
4. Click OK
5. If your computer has a 64-bit version of Windows, click the button Run 64-bit DXDIAG (see screenshot below)
6. If your computer has a 32-bit version of Windows, that button will not be available
7. Click the Save All Information button, found on the bottom of the DXDIAG report
8. Save this text file to your Desktop if possible
9. Open the text file, select all the text inside (Ctrl + A) and copy it (Ctrl +C).
10. Go to http://hastebin.com/, paste the contents of your DXDiag inside (Ctrl+V) and click Save on the webpage (Ctrl+S).
11. Copy the link of the page in your post, along with a precise description of your issue.

When I launched origin, it wouldn't open because it said I needed to install the latest version of it/with the new updates. So I uninstalled it and re-installed it, but when I wanted to launch Inquisition, it just wouldn't ! Tried to launch it several times but it just kept syncing cloud data 100% and then nothing. It says the game is running but it isn't. I checked in the task manager... :/
(The game worked just fine before because I set the graphics setting the lowest in order to avoid the directx crash)

I've had the game since Christams of 2014 and I have yet to be able to play it. No matter where I try to launch it from, all I get is a black screen to pop up, where it looks like it's trying to launch, but it never gets beyond that. I can see the DA:I symbol appear in the task bar for about a second before it crashes and goes back to the home screen like nothing happened. I downloaded it from a disc, tried uninstalling it and redownloading from Origin, then uninstalling and downloading with the disc again. Regardless of the method, I always get the same result. Thank you.

The game refuses to load and I've tried disconnecting it from Origin and restarting my computer. When I click on either the desktop shortcut or the Folder icon, I get a loading icon next to my cursor for about three seconds before it disappears and the game doesn't load. I've tried opening it from Origin but the Play icon can't be clicked on.

Mine is the same way.... agian. it worked for about a month, then after this last update.... (well I DL the patch today the 5th) nothing seems to work agiaan. I do see in the event viewer that DAI is throwing this:
Failed to verify the digital signature for HarddiskVolume2\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\ORIGIN GAMES\DRAGON AGE INQUISITION\DRAGONAGEINQUISITION.EXE
Not sure what that could be yet though

I have the same problem. The game won't start up. It launches, gives a black screen and then goes back to my start screen.

So I had the same problem of the black screen and game crash, and I had to go through the long process of re-installation. The game works fine now - except for the fact that my save games WILL NOT LOAD.
"The save data was created with a newer version of the game. Please download the latest patch and try again."
But I checked the game in origin and the game is completely up to date. Can anyone help me?

Im actually working my way up the support chain. I was moved to T2 lasnight. Working with a Shane there currently... I can post the troubleshooting steps Ive done so far with them... might help...
They even had me create a new admin account and run the program as that account... no joy. I suggest getting ahold of the chat support after doing all this and letting themm know what you have done. Who knows, maybe one of us can get a fix for the rest of us.....

- Update your video card drivers.
- Run the game as administrator:
- For Windows 7

If prompted, enter username and password for the administrator.
- Check Windows compatibility with the game. You can do this by right clicking on the game shortcut, select Properties and then select Compatibility tab.
- Set up a gaming profile :
http://help.ea.com/en/article/setting-up-a-graphics-card-gaming-profile/
- Temporarily disable UAC (User Account Control):
- Hold down the Windows key and press R. (This will open the Run dialogue.)
- Type "msconfig" and press Enter.
- In System Configuration, select the Tools tab.
- Select "Change UAC Settings" and click the Launch button.
- Pull the level to the down position "Never notify" and click the OK button.
- Restart when prompted.
- Kindly refer to this link below for instructions on how to reactivate UAC after this troubleshooting (step 6) is complete: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/turn-user-account-control-on-or-off
- You may try the game afterwards

Seemed like it is running in the background, but it was not. please help. Cannot even get to main menu, last friday it worked with no problem.

@Smidliboys Is it possible you're experiencing the problem with AVG dealt with in this thread?
If not, has anything changed with your computer since the last time you were able to successfully play? Any new drivers, Windows updates, things like that?Have you tried repairing the game? (Right click the game in Origin, select 'repair game').
Without more information, that's all I can think of right now, sorry.
