Dragon Age Inquisition Tampering!

I was playing this evening and for some strange reason the difficulty got to the point of being futile. I traveled with my party through the wilderness and defeated foes, after I defeated them more enemies would appear from my flank in which I had already covered the ground. I would have full shields and health and get insta killed at times on Hard difficulty Level 4 vs. 8. I've played Hard difficulty on the Xbox one and it was nothing like this. There were also times I could not get the reticle to work over the enemies. I could not target or learn about my enemy. Also there was an instance in which an enemy chased after my party a great distance to attack from the shadows. More than one enemy appeared in a enemy free zone. I would like to know if this matter can be fixed or if I need to return the product for refund. I am going to try it on a different difficulty setting, but what was happening in the game was not related to the difficulty setting.

Just tried it on normal and I did better on Hard. WTF

  • Well I can guarantee they will not rebalance combat when most people are satisfied with it. There would have to be a large outcry over it before they would overhaul a system like that. You can try for the refund but if you have had the game too long it is unlikely they will give you one.

Keep in mind if you are level 4 fighting level 8, those level 8's get quite an advantage over you and it is not unsurprising that you are getting one shotted. If you notice the game does not give you experience if an enemy is more than 2 levels below, because you are getting such a large combat bonus. It is the game way of telling you that you are not ready for this area yet.

Your gear can also affect things. There is a gear quality called "Berserk" which allows you to do more damage, like 10, 20 or 30% more damage, but it also makes you take 10x that much more damage, so 100, 200, 300% more.

Enemies will also chase for quite a while, and you companions have a tendency to try to keep engaging even if you are running away. And until the combat mode turns off, you should be ready for an attack. If you can't see any enemies but combat mode is active, then the enemy is stealthed or glitched. Haven/Skyhold are the only true enemy free zones. In other areas enemies don't patrol close to some sections, but they can still show up there. Enemy info only shows up in the tactical camera, not any time you move your cursor over them.
