Trying to solve my own problem, I inadvertently solved yours.
I went through the 3 hour Trial as well, and decided to buy the game.. Instead of spending $40 on Origin, I went to some other massive e-retailer, and picked it up for $30.. activated the code through Origin, and was very disappointed to learn I needed to re-download the game. It took me a week to download the trial (I live in the middle of nowhere.. slow internet is the only downside) Ugh.
So on a whim, I started the download, let it proceed long enough to create the file path. I then copied everything in the trial folder into the "full version" folder. After 5 minutes of validating files, I needed to download about 100mb of data..
An hour later :eahigh_file: I clicked launch game and was greeted to a little window saying "No cloud saves detected" with 2 options: (something to the effect of) #1: Delete local saves, or #2 Use local saves and update the cloud.
You want to use your local saves. Took me another few minutes (grrr slow internet) to update the cloud, but my party is there, my loot is there, and more importantly the character I spent half of that 3 hour trial making is there.
