Dragon Age Inquisition won't go beyond the Press Start Screen

I just bought DA:I on December 19.  It worked fine until December 31.  I have been using a corded Xbox 360 controller to play the game.  When I tried to play the game on January 1st and thegame wouldn't advance to the main menu.  It's stuck on press start to continue.  I have tried everything I know how to do from disconnecting the controller to rebooting my pc tocompletely uninstalling and reinstalling the game.  The problem still persists.

I know the problem isn't with my controller as it works fine with other Xbox 360 controller supported games.  

Please help me fix this issue.
