Dragon Age Inquisition won't launch, or crashes at character creation
I have previously run Inquisition fine on my laptop -- it meets the specs and I last played just over a week ago.
However, when I came to play it today, it repeatedly crashed on launch, without error messages. Just the initial black window but then a return to the desktop and the Origin client.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Steam, uninstalled and reinstalled Origin, added an exception to my antivirus (AVG), and did a clean reboot. The game launched this time, but when I got to character creation (after choosing the race/class cards and importing a world state), it crashed again, still without an error message. This happened a second time; and now the game is back to not launching at all.
The only thing that's different is that today Origin did an update -- I don't know if that's affected it somehow?
Repair the game using either Origin or Steam, redo the exceptions through AVG(making sure it is the global exception and not scanning one). As far as exceptions goes, make sure you put in Origin, DAI and the saves folder for DAI in the exception lists. if this doesn't work, you may try giving us a DxDiag file per the how to post to get answers topic at the top of the forum.
