Forum Discussion
This thread is now marked "solved" and that has me scratching my head in confusion. There does seem to be a successful, documented workaround for PC users (see post #105, which is also the 2nd post in the thread now) and one that seems to work for most PS users. However, XBox One users appear to be out of luck. I can't upload my custom world state for love nor money, and I've been trying it all. Ergo, sounds to me like the topic problem isn't fully solved, and the thread hasn't accurately earned its "Solved" status.
The Partial Solution Post (#105, also 2nd post in thread) does say:
It looks like it works for different platforms, but not the Xbox. If you have an XBox, try looking for the platform settings, maybe there are some platform-specific sync options that prevent you from getting your world state. If you find one, please let us know!
That reads as pretty vague to me. I've been through every Network and System option I can to try and discover some form of "platform sync settings" I should be experimenting with. If someone can clearly explain to me what that means, I'll be really happy to try it. Less than a week ago, I uploaded my world state without having to bat an eyelash. Has any XBox One user managed to find some combination of workaround/platform sync settings for world-state uploading?
I'm thrilled PC and PS users can upload their world states. Really! But, until a sufficiently successful solution has been demonstrated among the XBox user group as well, please do not mark this thread as solved.
@WildingName @5ais @Jamildo2 I marked the workaround as a solution to make it easier for people to find it, it's a large thread and marking as a solution is the only way to show that particular post on the front page so users can see it without going through a bunch of pages. Apologies for those on Xbox, but the workaround solution does help a lot of players. I'll try to make it more clear that the workaround isn't for xbox.
@Real_Shiny_Pants I merged your thread into this one. Try the workaround solution on the front page, PC and PS4 users have been having success with it. 🙂

I get that, just don’t want to be forgotten. Gutted the fix doesn’t work for me.

Thanks for the response @Leora85. This is indeed a large thread, and it has unarguably helped a lot of people on PC/PS platforms successfully resolve the problem, which is what makes this forum valuable. I am grateful there are individuals who go to such effort to find workarounds. Also, thank you for putting a notation that this solved thread isn't for XBox users, nor for some PC/PS users.
Given not all users start reading problem threads from the beginning, there's a good chance many might not even catch the bright red announcement. (Been a mod, done that, got the video and the t-shirt.) I genuinely believe a majority of folks are going to see that check sign and be disappointed. I think I'll start a thread for Xbox users who might have ideas about how to solve what is clearly an upsetting and in some cases deal-breaking problem. I'll link this thread for PC/PS users, with the caveat it doesn't work 100% of the time even for them.
At the very least, forum visitors might see the topic's title and get an idea this thread isn't for XBox gamers. EA did say they'd post in the forum when (if?) the problem gets solved. A second thread will let them know the community is partitioned when it comes to which workaround/solution works for which platform, ne?

Sorry new to the forum how do I find the work around?

Nevermind found it, unchecking all three boxes then closing the game then restarting it then triangle to log into the network worked for loading the world state. But can't re click all three boxes because then it will go back to the same problem, so everyone you create a new game save have to uncheck all three. Then after you create an new character and can finally save it, go back to the main menu and recheck them so it syncs again.

I had already posted in another thread about the golden nug not working, but I am now also having problems with the dragon age keep. I'm on Xbox one so the workaround is no good for me. I've tried tweeting ea and dragon age keep but it's like my messages disappear into the ether as there is not even an automated reply. What frustrates me is that this is not a new problem. Its happened a number of times since DAI launched and yet here we are again! Ea help are no help. Btw, this should not be designated as solved. ITS NOT SOLVED! 😠
