Dragon Age not connecting to EA Play account on Xbox series S

Ive played my Dragon Age Inquisition for years and never had this issue. I dunno if EA stopped support for it or what, but my nephew played the first DA, caught the bug for it and rocketed through DA 2, and now wants to play DA Inquisition in preparation for DA Dreadwolf. When I launched it today, it told me I had to link my Xbox to my EA account. The EA website says it's linked, but the game menu constantly tells me to go back and link it. Anybody got any idea what the smeg is going on here? Any help would be appreciated.
