Dragon Age Origins crashes after the Harrowing
I've recently started playing Origins again and I chose the Mage origin. As soon as Mouse is defeated, I see the loading screen and then the game crashes. It's happened multiple times now. Can you please help me get past this? Let me know what other information you need from my side. I've managed to complete Inquisition multiple times on this PC so I don't think it's a hardware issue.
Thanks in advance.

Wow so what you're saying is unless I get another graphics card, I won't be able to play DAO?
Not quite. I think you might be able to with a fresh driver installation, but I can't be sure.

in Device Manager it says driver was last updated this January.
The important part is that it's a clean driver installation, meaning all of the files are removed from your PC entirely before you reinstall it. This is common troubleshoot step for driver related problems.
I believe the driver at the bottom of this page is the latest compatible with your graphics hardware: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/products/212683/graphics/processor-graphics/intel-uhd-graphics-family/intel-uhd-graphics-730.htmlDownload that, follow the clean driver installation instructions I posted before, and hopefully that will help.
It's possible that this won't fix your problem, but it's worth a try.
Update: This reply was marked as the solution, so I'll include a followup that I posted further down this thread that might be helpful to some players:
Since the crash concerns a DirectX system file, it might help to try a Windows file repair.
Instructions here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/using-system-file-checker-in-windows-365e0031-36b1-6031-...You can follow this up with a game repair. Here are the steps to do that:
If you have the game in the EA app, right click the game in your library and look for the repair option.
If you have the game on Steam, right click the game in your Steam library, go to properties, go to local files, then click 'verify integrity of game files'.
This will cause the client to scan your files and redownload corrupt or missing files.
If you have the game installed traditionally from a disc, try instead to reinstall the game.
