Dragon age origins gameplay

Hello, 

I have a question? Why am I being undercut as a character in Dragon Age by the other NPC's?  For example: If I am playing Elissa then I have Wynne posing as Elissa, and not the real Elissa that I have chosen.  Why is it that I as a player am going to spend my hard earned money and put in 40-60 hr. playtime am not getting what was advertised?

I have some other NPC's hijack my character, and just loop my image of my character or their image of themselves and do away with the character that I have chosen. That you setup for me to play and to pick from. To me it is like getting  counterfeit money. It is like they are cheating.

If I choose a background I want the person I chose in the first place. If I wanted to play Alistair, Wynne, Morgan and so forth you should have offered those choices to me as a player.

I can look in toolset, and see where they have taken over. I can see where Alistair has set his appearance as various, and so forth  or of the other NPC's and just bacically stolen the one I wanted to play in the first place.  When I as a player had never done anything wrong. 

For instance one time I was playing as a Mage, and I was in Lothering and I used the mod that Bioware provides to reset your stats. When I did even  I as a Mage. I found out Oghren was playing as me. It showed I was really a Beserker.  Another time, Alistair, had stolen my character even though I was female and posed as me.

Am I just suppose to play dumb as a player, and not notice these things? Or, is this suppose to be a secret I as a player am not suppose to know?  They are setting themselves as immortal in Toolset when I played another copy the only ones that were immortal was Alistair and Morgan.  I only want to play the characters that you have given me choice over, and what was advertised and not some other NPC hijack my character.

If this continues to happen I am not sure I would want to invest any more time or money into this or the games that follow. Thank You. Please Fix.
