Dragon Age Origins won't log hours on steam

Question

I tried looking for answers on the forum so I apologise if I missed a thread, but the only one I found didn't have the right solution for me. Every time I launch DA:O, after clicking "play" when the launcher pops up, my steam registers me as not playing a game. Also no overlay stuff seems to work, so I can't press F12 to take screenshots. I don't have this issue with any other games

Yeah I'm still having issues ): I checked the EA app and I believe i've been having this issue since August 2021

I purchased it on Steam. Before August 2021 it used to log my hours just fine
