I've been running DAO without any machine-based CtD since Win7. (Did have the DX10 glitch of progressively longer load times when I had a GT640 GPU, but that was resolved with v1.0.5.) I've played it under Win8, Win8.1, and Win10. I've installed the retail disc version (plus all the original DLC using "BioWare Points".) I've installed it via the UE disc. I've installed it via EA/Origin. I've done each of those multiple times. (Don't ask...)
I use no special "compatibility" settings. No "Run as Admin". No changes to my number of "cores". Just like hundreds-of-thousands of other players.
There is something else going on here. Some conflict with a player's specific config (including other software) that causes the issues. Submitting a DXDiag report is the first step in finding the problem.
Without that, not much any of us can do to help.
I think it's my character personally. I have had many CTDs with her. For my last 50 PTs ,no problems at all. With her? ctds with no warning & no error messages, set affinity for the very 1st time, was Run as Admin. now run as Win 7. I was playing with Graphics & Textures on very high, now on Med or Low. She doesn't back stab at all. She's a DW Rogue, and all her talents are maxed. Not to mention, I am now playing Awakening, and have had at least 3 CTDs where before I never had any at all. I have repaired my game twice. My game is modded and I have used the same mods for every PT,with no problems.
I would like some help with this, please. I need to somehow stop the CTDs,before I make my new character.I don't know if this has anything to do with the problems, but I was running AVG Free before, and now I'm using McAfee. All the DA games are listed as exceptions. All of my drivers are utd,and my windows updates are current.Video card is also utd.
I have included my DxDiag, and a complete list of my mods. Any suggestions, and advice will be appreciated. Thank you
