I got tired of waiting for a response and just deleted the install folder and redownloaded the game. Took a stupid long time, but it is working now. I was able to load up my save game and play again.

I also get the message about the newer version is installed and I can get into the game but I can't save. I have tried uninstalling origin and sims 4, reinstalling both, repairing the games several times. When I open the game I can get in but I cannot access any of the old games I have played, they are gone. I always have to create a new sim, the i buy a house play, but the game won't save. I am frustrated with everything. Why play if I can't save. I have a new computer so that's not a problem. I have been playing since the first sims game was released and this is the first time I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Please fix this bug
