Fast Travel Stuck Inside World

I'm working on the collections for DAI and was in Crestwood. I got the Astrarium item from the chest and tried to fast travel to a camp and ended up inside the world instead. I couldn't move. I tried fast traveling anywhere else, even a different region, but had the same result. I tried loading an earlier save but it kept teleporting me inside the world. I restarted the game and same thing happened. I am currently attempting to repair the game with the Origin option but I don't have high hopes about it.

Has anyone else had this issue at all or know a fix? I really don't want to lose the progress I've made in Nightmare mode and have to start over...

  • I do use mods but it's never happened before after nearly 400 hours of play, so I doubt it was due to them. Luckily repair game did fix it, so I'm not sure what happened.

Sorry I couldn't get any screenshots of the experience. I panicked after reading about a potential save-killing bug that happens with Crestwood travel and decided to do everything to fix it and didn't think about screenshots. It was the first time I was aiming for 100% completion and since it was in Nightmare mode, I didn't want to have to restart lol. ☹️

But thank goodness it got fixed. Hopefully it won't happen again, but if it does I'll make sure to get screens next time!

    Did repair fix your game?

If not and you ahve mods, remove them, repair again and see if that works. Put the mods back one by one to see which is causing the problem.

  • @xuomix That is a new one. Screenshots could be interesting. 😛

If doing a repair doesn't work and you're not using mods, it might be helpful for us to take a look at your dxdiag, see if anything stands out that could be causing the problem (see the spoiler tag in this sticky for instructions on how to generate a dxdiag). If you're using any trainers or cheat engine, such things are known to cause some weird bugs, which can sometimes be 'cooked' into your saves.

I've never had the Crestwood FT bug but, in Beta Testing, traveling to Crestwood form the Undercroft was a problem so, I never travel anywhere form the Undercroft. Don't know if it matters but, I've never had a travel bug hit me and that is what was bugging it out in testing so, it might be what is sparing me those bugs.
