Game closes when creating Hawke

You're talking about the beginning of the game. This post is for a specific crash happening about ten or fifteen hours already into the game. I'd go looking for posts about crashes after creating the Inquisitor.

Okay I made a lot of side quests waiting for BioWare to repair it,  but... afther couole of hour playing i tried it once again and it's working perfectly fine.Don't know want happend.

I'm experiencing this bug now, stranger still I can't create a female Hawke. My Hawke was a female mage, but I only have the option to customize a male Hawke. I realize it sounds dumb, but this actually really bothered me. The game knows all of my decisions, but can't use the correct sex of my character? I verified that my Keep file imported, and that my Keep hero is a female Hawke. Anyone else have this issue?

I am having the same issue.
Whenever I go talk to Varric (to create the female Hawk) the game just quits out to the dashboard when I pick the Default Female Hawke.

Please fix ?!?! :/

Edit: Thankfully I had a savegame that was only about half an hour before this happend. I loaded that savegame and replayed everything and now it worked.

I had a simular problem. When i chose the option for a custom Hawke it just exited the Dialog it didn't crash till i tried to use default Hawke. I had to load a previous save and do it all again.

Now i managed to speak with Hawke (custom Hawke) but my characters voice actor changed from American to British. :manmad:

So now i gottta find a way to get that taken care of, any suggestions

I'm experiencing the same issue as well... Either I create a custom Hawke or use the default appearance, it still crashes to desktop immediately after selecting my choice. Quite frustrating tbh. I'm seriously hoping for a fix to this issue!

Edit: I just tried launching a save game that I had 15 mins before I initiated the quest by talking to Varric and it worked. I even chose Default Appearance for Hawke and it worked with the first try. What seemed kinda odd was that I got a brief freeze before the cutscene started.

The studio is aware and already investigating a number of save games from players that are in this state. As soon as we have an update, we will let you know.

I have exact same problem. People say save works, but ow far back should you go?
