Game Pc requirements

hey, i pre-ordered DA:I and my computer couldnt handle it ( had to refund the game ☹️ )

movement was slow

casting those flashy spells ( specialy barrier) made it even slower

Loading screens tooks 3-5 minutes

I would like to know what part of my computer i need to upgrade inorder to run the game smoothly ( not ultra setting but medium-high would be nice :X)

My specs are-

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @3.10GHz 3.40 GHz

8.00GB RAM

Windows 7 64bits

graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce GT440 (2GB version)

MotherBoard: Gigabyte Technology Co.Ltd

Model H61M-S2PV REV 2.2

From what i gather the 750 is newer( is that a word?) but the 660 seems to be better so im a bit confused
As you point out, the 750ti is a later generation than the 660, but the 660 does perform better in benchmarking tests based on the reference card (the version created with essentially no enhancements). The 660 does outperform the 750ti and that's what I would recommend.

I've been waiting Dragon Age 3 for years and now you put a ninja pc as minumum requirements.
It's so sad, it's the only game having this kind of pretensions, the only one.

Same, i was sure my computer would be able to handle it.. i have some game who came out at 2014 and they work fine ,
any idea for a solution?

Apart from hoping a patch will make optimizing the games graphics better, there are probably no solution apart from upgrading the PC system, unfirtunately...

This GPU is on the slow side, but is not too far removed from the minimum spec (Geforce 8800). Still, to have a playable performance, upgrade the GPU.

Edit: Actually that GPU is on par with the 8800. If you haven't already, install the latest beta drivers of your GPU.

Aside from the graphic card, is there anything else that need an upgrade? is the CPU good enough?
and any recommendation for okay- not overly expensive graphic card?

The i5 processor cheats the minimum requirements. The game requires a quad core (i7 for instance) but the i5 has 4 threads so it can struggle along despite only 2 cores.

I was under the impression that the Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU is a quad core CPU.

Thanks everyone for the replys but im even more confused XD
From what i gather my computer has the minimum requirements yet the game lagged/freeze even on lowest setting
it is safe to assume its game related and should be fixed via patch or whatever?><"
Btw- i tried looking for updates on my GPU including betas im updated and the lastest update says support for many games including DA:i.,..
that update came day before the release of the game and i installed it same day it came out
Bah so much anticipation for this

Your i5 2400 is a nice quad core cpu, and a gt440 isn't doing it any justice. I recommend a minimum upgrade to a gtx750ti (beware some require an additional 6 pin pcie power connector). This gtx750ti has the same power supply requirements as your current card, so you shouldn't have to upgrade your psu. If you have a larger power supply you could upgrade to a higher end card.

I couldn't find a gt440, so selected the more powerful gts450 to compare to a gtx750ti.
