Help: cursor in game appears as hand when I zoom out, moves entire screen?

So, I just got Dragon Age: Origins for the PC, and everything was going fine until I booted it up yesterday and noticed that when I zoomed out to tactical view, the cursor appeared as a hand with four arrows pointing outward on each side of it (up, down, left, right). It's locked into this mode where I cant move the mouse without it moving the entire camera. The only way I can move the mouse freely around the screen without it guiding the entire camera in the direction of my mouse, is if I hold shift. But even then, I can't loot bodies/chests because it does absolutely nothing when I click on them, even if I do it whilst holding down the shift key. I've tried everything I could think of; searching through the control options repeatedly to no avail, resetting the options to defaults several times, even uninstalling and reinstalling the game: Still nothing. It's starting to really frustrate me as I just spent 20 dollars on this game and it is now virtually unplayable. Another thing I noticed is that ever since it started doing this weird glitch the A and D keys that normally turn my character and the camera simultaneously do nothing. Does anyone know how to get out of this mode? Please help??!

@StoicTurtle It sounds like the middle mouse button is either physically stuck or your computer is seeing a permanent input.

Can you try clicking this a few times and check again. If it has no effect, you can go into Options > Controls > Key Bindings and scroll down, then unbind Pan Camera and check again.

Sorry for the slow response, but I hope this is helpful anyway.
