We'll have to see some screenshots.
Normally in Skyhold, the Inquisitor switches to a casual outfit, but this covers the entire body. as You wish here's a screenshot in skyhold and 1 of the inventory screen there

It's outrageous and stupid looking, but this was intended. I wish they would just add a "wear armor in skyhold/war room" toggle in the gameplay options menu or something similar. (After they add the ability to walk on the PC)
The fact that they had the inquisitor wearing armor in the previews means that someone said, "Hey, you know what would be a good idea? To force the player to wear his pajamas in Skyhold and the war room, and we'll call it 'casual wear'."
The fact that this idea had any kind of credence at all tells me that it was brought down from the top for marketing reasons so that they could sell DLC related to this. I hope I'm wrong about that.I don't want to wear "casual clothes" in skyhold, I want to wear armor like nearly everyone else does in the keep. Armor that I may have spent countless hours designing and finding resources for to tailor to my specific tastes. "Nothx, wear pj's, derpdiderpdiderp."-Bioware
What's really incredible to me is in the first area the player character bothers to take all of his armor clean off before stepping into the war room. Hasn't this guy ever heard of assassination attempts, and doesn't this guy have things to do?
ah i see, thanks for the awnser, at least now i know i can keep playin
They took the idea from Mass Effect, where it kinda made more sense.
In high fantasy setting, everyone sleeps in their armors 🙂
I'm experiencing the same problem throughout any game with all possible characters. It starts in Haven's War room then completely goes haywire after reaching Skyhold.
I believe why myself and others feel that this is the characters' underwear is because of the cut-scene after the initial attempt at sealing the Breach. The npc elf's reaction and general setting implies that it's not a casual public outfit so much as sleepwear. Perhaps if there had been something to indicate that it's casual wear and not underwear (something as simple as a different color or even an option to change its general appearance) there would be less of a feeling of discontent amongst us players.

Yeah it's very uncomfortable to see them in pyjamas or tights or whatever you call it. Only thing missing is a tinfoil hat lol
