Hide Helmet toggle not working properly (PS4)

I'm playing on the PS4 and loving the game so far aside from a couple of audio bugs and what not. One thing that bugs me though is the "Hide Helmet" toggle no longer works for anyone but my player character. I can toggle it on and off on my character but the companions will still have their helmets showing no matter what. I've tried a couple different ways of unequiping the gear and then unselecting the toggle or putting on the gear and then taking it off and yada yada but nothing seems to work.

Is there a work around that I can use until the game gets patched or are all my characters stuck talking through their helmets now..?
