How to transfer modded DAO and DA2 Saves to Dragon Age Inquisition

How do I import a save with modded choices through to Dragon Age Inquisition, DA2 was fine as I just took straight from save but Inquisition has the weird keep system and I am worried the choices in Equal Love along with others such as anyone can marry Alistair will not appear in my inquisition game.

Please help, (Spoilers) I really want too keep my Dalish Elf Queen to stay on the throne of Ferelden with her husband King Alistair (Spoilers)

Trying to create an entire world state with the save editor will be extremely time consuming, and it hasn't been fully tested so it may cause bugs (there are also some flags which are still unidentified). I have used the editor (the one on the DAI Tools site, I don't know of any others), but not for editing my world state, I haven't encountered any bugs but I've only changed things relating to Inquisition (romance states and such).

If you want help with the save game editor, the best place to ask would be the DAI tools forums, found here, since the people who actually made it are there. 😉

  • The Keep only allows for legitimate world states. If your modded choices are not canonical, they can't be imported.

  • What Fred_vdp is trying to say is that there is NO direct import of saves from DAO/DA2 into DAI, the Keep is the only way to make your previous choices be used for the beginning World-State.

And the Keep only contains the "vanilla game" options as choices to be selected. Any mods that allowed what would otherwise have been impossible, (e.g. Fem!Warden performs the DR with Morri) are simply not available in the Keep at all.

I have downloaded a software that allows you too edit a DAI worldstate via the save, I just have too get the world state as close as possible in DA keep, I was hoping there was a more user freindly software however as I don't really want too spend five hours going through line of text editing the world state too perfection.

The Software is called DAIsavegameeditor, I am worried however that it will cause bugs, although I have not heard it to do so, any thoughts on this?

    Thank you for help

I haven't used the save editor myself, but I think there's always the risk of bugs.

I just googled 'DAIsavegameeditor' and the word "malware" shows up a few times in the search results. It could be incorrectly identified as malware, however.

Depending on the magnitude of your previous mods, the outcome may not be drastically different if you just go with a legitimate save file.

  • Thank you for taking the time to answer my question, I have decided to try and edit the world state using the DAI save editor to attempt to gain the world state from my other games, as I want my Dalish elf queen too continue her rule alongside Alistair, as far as ik I shouldn't be too time consuming as I will get the stroy close as I can in DA keep and then modfy it as it says too in the editor.

Again thank you for your help.
