    Hi guys,

    Thank you all for the quick replies with your DxDiag reports.

    I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like all of you are on dual core CPUs. Dragon Age: Inquisition requires a quad-core CPU.

    If you ordered a digital copy of the game on Origin and you absolutely won't have a chance to play the game on a computer that meets the minimum requirements, you can request a refund (granted that you are eligible) here: http://help.ea.com/en/refund/

    UPDATE: While it is still the case that a significant number of users posting in the thread are using machines that don't meet the minimum specs for the game, there have been plenty of people whose machines more than meet the requirements who are still reporting this issue. We are investigating these reports and we still urge you to create a hastebin link to your dxdiag and post it in the thread. 

    However, there are some steps that may help too. First of all, please ensure that your graphics card is updated with the latest DA:I drivers, available from the links below.

    If you are playing on a laptop, please ensure that you aren't set to a low-power mode and that your card's management software is using your discrete card when you play the game. 

    When the game goes to the black screen, press Alt & Enter to toggle the game to Windowed mode. Some players are able to play the game in Windowed and Windowed Fullscreen mode without issues.

Sorry if I miss anyone.

@TheCrimsonShin That CPU is below spec, sorry. A Dual Core is not enough for the game. 

@dargost You're in the same situation, sorry.

Ran a DxDiag, everything looks normal to me. Video driver is upto date. CPU is running at 2.7 Ghz. It gets past splash screen to chello music & black screen, then never progresses.

    Bull-only, you have a dual-core processor, which I think is your stumbling block (like 95% of the folk in this thread).

      So, dual-core won't work, but what about triple-core? My CPU isn't seeming to overheat or anything, it's working the same way it works with any other game (about 70%). Here's DxDiag: http://hastebin.com/lawerobufe.tex

        Okay @EA_David,

        Even Watch Dogs runs well on my PC. You think. that Dragon Age: Inquisition will run with lags on Dual-Core CPU?

    @Bull-only While there are other issues being reported in this thread, I have to reiterate that dual-core CPUs won't run the game, so you're out of luck. 

    @N3gve Apparently the g2030 is only dual-core so you're out of luck too. The new "DRM" isn't a factor. 

    @didalynn19 Your CPU seems to be fine, but perhaps your laptop isn't using your 750m. Please check your power settings and Optimax manager to ensure you're using the main card. Also I've seen one case where someone using Windows 8.1 reported that swapping to Windows 7 helped, so it might be worth trying too. 


    @northernway Please try the same steps as mentioned for didalynn, except of course your card is different. 

    @Shadowspawn76 Hmmm, can you try restarting with a Clean Boot, then see if you can get any further/get to the options menu to turn things down? 

    This is not for anyone in particular, just an important reiteration since there's a mix of issues in the thread.

      Hi, I'm using a quad core CPU, but I'm still crashing out on launch.

      I have specified in my NVIDIA control panel to use my NVIDIA graphics card.

      I have also used "Troubleshoot compatibility" to specify running with Windows 7 compatibility and run as administrator on the .exe.

      I'm still crashing out.

      @EA_David  Tried a clean boot as suggested and no such luck. The game is still freezing up about 30 seconds after loading.

      I am using a quad core processor and I have updated my drivers but I still only get the black screen. This very frustrating. I exceed all minimum requirements. I tried the clean boot and I reinstalled the game. Please help.

        This is seriusly BS I could have gotten the game for free waited for the crack but I loved so much DA 1 and 2 that I wanted to suport the developers by buying it and now I cant even play? 1 dollar here are 10$ of my country so I spent mora than 400$ for this game  plz solve this son everyone (incuding dual core users) can enjoy it
