Inquisition Not Loading to Main Menu (PC)

I have seen that a few people have had similar problems to me but not quite the same issue. I can boot up the game from my desktop or from origin and it opens fine but the loading screen before the main menu (black with the logo in the bottom right) carries on forever. I didn't see the game update but I checked the version in the update folder of the directory and it said it was version 12. I bought and downloaded the Descent and Trespasser DLCs this morning and left it on to download while I was out and the game was working fine before hand. I've also made a clean merge file with only the official patch and no other mods, I did previously have mods but I don't think that should matter once I've created the new merge. I hope you guys can help me out. thanks in advance.

  • OK, delete your merged mod folder and repair the game. There was a patch released recently to fix the bugs that came with Trespasser, so the unmodded patch number should be 12 (so if you were playing with mods before the patch, and now don't have any, the new patch should mean your saves won't have patch number issues).
If you haven't been using mods in a while, it's also possible you're using an out of date mod manager, which probably isn't a good thing. 😉 Get your game running before doing anything mod related, though.

Ok, I deleted a folder called "Patch_ModManagerMerge" from the updates folder in the DAI directory. I'm still getting the same issue. I figure that the save files wouldn't matter yet though as I'm not even getting to the main menu to select a file to load.

Did you repair the game? (Right click in Origin, select 'repair game'). It's (way) less of a download than fully reinstalling it, which is why it's my first suggestion.
