Hey guys,
Sorry to hear that you are suffering with this problem as well, but its peversely heartening to hear that I'm not the only one!
Quick question, what are you useing as speakers/headsets? It'd be good to know whether its hardware that we have in common.
Also, what version of windows are you using? I'm using Vista 64.
Thanks for the help.
Vista x64, using a Logitech G930 for my playback+recording.
OK, well we have a point of connection there - I am also on vista 64!
I'm not using your headset though, so at least we know that its unlikely to be a headset related problem.
Thanks for getting back to me! Anyone else?

Also using vista x64 here. Will probably be upgrading to 8.1 this weekend and just hope I don't run into any of the other problems experienced by users of that OS.
Just a quick FYI:
I've been over to a friend's house and tested the issue there.
It behaves exactly as it does at my place, so, given that his connection is incredably quick, we can rule out bandwidth as the potential cause.
It rather looks like DA:I Doesnt like Widnows Vista 64 over much, a shame as that is an offcialy supported platform - has anyone seen this mentioned anywehre else?
Either on vista or another platform - more information is always good!
Thanks for the replies.

I found some Nvidia drivers in my devices - they seem to have gone there with an update. I removed them and now I can hear voice chat from others.
When you say Nvidia drivers, do you mean audio ones?
If so, do you know what they were called/where you found them?
I ask, as the only ones I've been able to get my hands on are the graphics drivers and, well, I dont think they are the ones i should be uninstalling! 😕mileytongue:
Thanks very much for your help!

PC User here:
I'm having trouble with the lack of any sort of features of voice chat.
Always on or mute another player
Cannot mute yourself without using windows to mute your microphone
Seems like all those PC centric features we got promise ended up getting canned for release.
Hey Nariala,
Yeah - as I said in an earlier post, the game seems to do strange things to mics on the pc, like unmute them whenever you join or leave a game.
I'm fortuante in that my headset has a hardware mute button which has colored lights for muted / unmuted states.
I hadn't thought about how much the muting/unmuting must suck without an easily reached button to correct it - it would certainly explain all the people I've encountered that had a lot of background noise broadcasting all the time!
I've had a look for a way to mute yourself in the game and I'm afraid that I cannot find one - sorry to hear you are having problems with it, maybe the folks at bioware / EA will see fit to include it in a patch?

Yes audio, they came up as audio devices in the device manager (don't know the English word for it) - the hardware thing you access from the system control panel. I uninstalled them and that worked.
