Issues with Cole and Solas "inner circle" quests.

So I'm having real problems with two of the companion quests in DAI.

I have looked through the forums to see other people are having similar issues, have contacted the online chat support but haven't found any solutions that work at the moment.

Cole:

The Quest is still showing in my log, that I am to give him his amulet. However, I have had the conversation option with him to hand over the amulet then he disappeared and I had to initiate the "Find Cole" trip.

Since then he has mentioned that he needs the amulet..

to give him courage to fight the big bad..

But I am given no option to be able to give him the blooming thing again or remind the dreamy boy that I have already given it to him!

Therefore:

I have seen on another thread, this means he won't help me later. Which is a pain in the backside as my inquisitor is very fade-friendly.

Solas:

Being fade-friendly is also a pain in the butt when it comes to Solas; my favorite, open-minded elf friend.

His quest needs me to free a friend of his from evil bads who wanted to do her harm.

I have approached this from every which way to try and get him to recognise the trigger points needed to go have it out with his huge, prideful bulldog.

I stand on top of the dead mages yelling "Oi, Egg-Head, inspect this body over here. Look at the arrow wounds" 😠

I have taken control of Solas himself and walked him through the field of blood and death in every order that I can think of; winding between the open eyed bodies.

The most I can get is him commenting on them being killed by Arrows and Varric then quiping about bandits. He once mentioned claw marks, but that was the extent of it.

Solas was instantly one of my favourite tag-alongs in this game and it is such a pain to get this far into the game and realise I might not be able to finish this task for him.

I wish it had been blackwalls quest I'd been unable to finish..The cowardly git..😠

So.. If anyone has any advice, I would love to hear it. 😃

Though going back to a save just before these glitches kicked in is not really an option now. I have played A lot since realising this was a bug and not just "Ohh, go do something else and come back" 😞

If any EA officials see this I would love to hear from you even more, as it seems it's not just me having problems with yet another glitchy game 😢

(Come on, I've served my time battling through Sims 3 and all expansions.. Haven't I suffered enough!)

    @Tsurugi-ijin What system are you on, and is your game patched completely? (Patch 11 for PC/PS4/XBox One, Patch 8 for PS3/Xbox 360... I think). This sticky might give you an idea of what information is helpful to include 😉

    Unfortunately, I've never seen anyone who has one of these issues get past them and then gain the ability to fix them, I think that once it's broken, it's broken, the only chance to fix the bug is to load a save before it happens.
    Tips that seem to have had an impact on others with these issues: with Cole, I think some people experience the bug with his quest because they needed to have other conversations with him before handing over the amulet. With Solas, you shouldn't need to investigate corpses or anything (this may have been a fix included in a patch, as I remember you used to have to do that), as soon as you get near the demon a cutscene should trigger (I tend to come from the Dalish camp, through the river, for that quest, I never see any of the dead people). 

    Sorry I can't offer better news, but hopefully this will help prevent these bugs popping up in future playthroughs. 😉

    It sounds like you are not going far enough for the Solas Quest. Those remarks are all you get when inspecting the bodies. Keep going past the claw mark body, you will find a Pride demon trapped in a circle and get a cut scene with NPC mages.

    The Cole quest does glitch out and you can't complete it if you did not get all of his in skyhold cut scenes before claiming the locket from the war table mission. That's what you did. The only fix is to reload a save form before you got the locket and do the find cole scene then go get the locket.
