Mage Origin Bug

Hello. In the Mage origin, in the repository, when I interact with the artifact that breaks the wall I get the message "You need to move the bookcase before using this artifact" whether the bookcase is moved or not. Reloading saves or starting a new mage origin yields the same result. What should I do to fix this?

I tried today and it worked. Must have been a temporary brainfart for the game.

The same thing is happening to me! I've tried creating a new character, uninstalling all mods, and have even reinstalled the game. What is happening!???

Not sure if anyone is still looking but I just got this issue and managed a work around using the cosole commands. I used runscript zz_bhm_debug then went to 2. plot flags > 2. set plot flags > 1. tranquility > keep clicking more until you see 3. cannon_fired. Click this flag and there should be a door now. Hope this helps anyone else that runs into this problem.

Had the same problem, looked online couldn't find a solution. It then occured to me that I was using "Auto-Loot" mod that messes with how you interact with items. After deactivating the mod and forcing a load it worked without a problem. If you have "Auto-Loot" mod this will cause the problem, just kill it until you get past this quest and then just turn it back on again after it is complete. I am assuming something similiar might happen with this mod in the future, in which case I will rinse and repeat since the mod is useful. Hope this was your problem!

Edit: if you are using "Auto-Loot" kill the thing and don't look back, it is a terrible mod. Game breaking quest killer, it will only get worse- just got to Ostegar and it auto picked up all the vials of darkspawn blood and wouldn't let me give them to Duncan. Terrible mod... Will kill game!

  • Thank you a million times over!!  I was about to give up.  Inactivating Auto Loot did it.
