I believe that the effect is random to a limited degree. I currently have three different types of Fad Touched Bloodstone in my crafting materials, each with its own effect. Each type of masterwork has a limited range of effects they can apply, and the one you get is just random. Hence the reason I spend hours huning through Emprise du Lion for Fade Touched Silverite: Generate 5 guard on each hit. Oh yeah baby gimme god tank...
