Missing cursor/bottom of screen cut off

I've looked all over and can't seem to find an answer.  I just purchased DA:O and installed it yesterday, and am having some problems.

In fullscreen mode the cursor disappears.  I am not using anything special, just an insignia wired USB mouse on a laptop running Windows 8.1.

In windowed mode I have the cursor, but the bottom of the screen is cut off, so I cannot read all the dialog choices or use anything on my quick bar.

Please tell me what I need to do!  Thanks,

    Uncheck the PLAY IN FULL SCREEN mode. Full screen doesn't let the cursor show.

    I moved my mouse around until the video tab lit up. clicked it. then moved around until one of the selections on screen lit up. Then I moved it around SLOWLY until the full screen mode caption appeared and slowly moved left clicking my way until the check mark was gone. Then I had to feel my way around to accept changes.

    It's a pain, but it worked.
