8 years agomultiplayer connections
I need an answer to this please. In ALL EA games i own that have multiplayer - Dragon age inquisition, NHL 17 and mass effect andromeda, i have big multiplayer issues. To start, my NAT type is open...
The AHQ is for player-to-player self-help and game play discussions. We're all just fellow gamers, doin' the best we can...
So you aren't talking directly to EA here, and given that there are literally thousands of people playing DAI multi-player at any given moment, I'm thinking the problem is at your end.
Seeing as every other game i play on my xbox has zero issues and its ONLY ea games, i beg to differ.
It sounds like there may either be an account issue or an internet settings one you could try creating a test account and see if these issues persist.
If the issue persists and you're having issues on a peer-to-peer connection, it's possible that your network is using newer IPv6 IP addresses rather than the more common (and previously standard) IPv4 type.
Unfortunately, IPv6 and IPv4 are not yet at the point where they work well together on peer-to-peer connections. If you find that you lose your connection every time you play against a particular friend or whenever you join a match, chances are that you or your opponent are using IPv6.
You may need to speak to your ISP if you suspect this is the case, as they can advise you on any hardware or router firmware changes you might need to make to switch to IPv4 for gaming.
Here's how to change your IP version on a PC:
So as i understand, this is the problem:
EA pushes ipv6 connections when not flawlessly compatible with ipv4 WHILE at the same time, my rogers modem updated its firmware and is causing issues with this as well.
Alot of forum posts on reddit and rogers about this. ONLY EA games and only rogers modems. Rogers is working toward a firmware update to smooth this out while ea just says "not our problem"
Sadly, in an email fom EA, their rep gave me a list of troubleshooting tips and one of them deleted all my saved data for all my EA games, so basically this is the end of EA and I.
DELETE CLOUD SAVES
1. On Home, pull the right trigger, and then press A to open My games and apps.
2. Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game.
3. Scroll to the right, highlight the saved data for your gamertag under Saved Data, and then press A on your controller.
4. Choose Delete everywhere.
5. Restart Console
So while my issue is now understood, i now have no reason to support EA as all my saves for all my games are gone.
Kinda speechless but moving on. Peace.
