Multiplayer Mic Problems

For some reason I have been experiencing a problem in multiplayer where apperantly I cause an Echo to other players.

This would make sense, if I had a mic plugged in at all....... I am playing on a desktop with no mic. I even tried turning off my sound so like none of the sound from players would echo back, but it still echos.

I feel like my mic is simply taking what players say and sending it right back to them, as if my output sound is also being turned into my input sound.

Any fixes?

Thanks

Just wanted to say that I have the same issue.

Headphone/ Mic isn't even plugged in and I have this same issue.

I have a similar issue but it resolves when I unplugged my webcam, which has a built-in Mic. I still see my Mic icon flash though the complaints seem to stop. Whenever it is plugged in though other people get echo and nothing I say transmits. I either have to forgo hoping to talk to my team or use an external program like Skype or Razer comms and just annoy people who haven't muted or gotten a chance to mute me since I can't mute myself and others can't mute me midgame.

The solution depends on your OS. Under Windows 8 you can right click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Recording Settings and disable all input devices. From your description, it sounds like "What you hear" is turned on as an input device.

You can mute people mid-game. press V to bring up the score card and click a player to must them.
