It should work on the disc version or any other version (Steam, GOG, Origin) regardless.

Loaded from original discs, so that should of worked. Oh well, try, try again.

Sorry for taking so long to reply.
Did a clean sweep of duplicate files. Found lots of orphan files related to DAO.
After the cleaning, everything works.
Mod manager allowed for the 2 config files to load.
