New Game Goes to Infinite Loading Screen

I just bought DAO on PC from Origin after playing it for years on my Xbox. The only problem I'm having now is that when I go to start a new game it gets stuck on an infinite loading screen. I've reserach different ways of trying to fix this. The only way to shut down the game is to restart my computer.

I've attempted:

  • Changing the amount of cores the game uses down from 8 to 1, and I've tried it with 2 cores and 3 cores.
  • Changing the compatibility that the game runs on to Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP 2, and Windows XP 3.
  • I've uninstalled and reinstalled.
  • I've tried the LAA Patch.
  • I've lowered the amount of memory my computer uses.
  • I've sent an email to EA support to see if anything comes of it.

EDIT: My system stats:

  • Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10300H CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 1680
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I've attached a dxdiag report file.

Is there some other way to fix this? I'll try anything at this point. I've tried starting the game maybe ten times now?

Thanks

EDIT: It's actually a mod, I thought I went through them all but I just did it again and this time it worked.

  • Have you tried repairing the game? This sometimes fixes issues that a reinstall doesn't.

Right click the game in the Origin client and select the repair option.

If that doesn't work, try a clean boot of Windows to ensure no third party software is interfering with the game. A dxdiag file may also provide some clues.

  • Tried both solutions you offered and neither worked. I appreciate you responding though! I'll put my dxdiag report on here and see if someone can help me through that.

This may sound silly, but are you positive that the game is running on the Nvidia graphics card instead of integrated Intel graphics? There may be an option to force the use of the dedicated GPU in the Nvidia control panel, or it can be caused if the display is plugged into the motherboard instead of the graphics card.
