I started a new play through tonight. I'm not far enough but if I find an amulet in a chest (or lack thereof) I will update this thread.
Yeah, I'm just finishing up this so I'll start again shortly. Hopefully the patch just corrupted games in progress, but we shall see.
I should test it as well (I didn't reached the Fallow Mire hut where the damn amulet is), but I've just erased my saves and I feel lazy tonight. Maybe tomorrow I'll do it.
