Bump for not allowing this to lose notoriety. Also, an official statement about the status of this bug would be VERY appreciated.
That "Fix unfix" mod seems neat, but I wouldn't recommend it at least until Patch 6 is released (should be pretty close now, I guess).. As the mod description itself says, it can cause problems, so it can be considered a sub-optimal solution.

Yeah, this whole issue is just getting bizarre now. Dragons no longer drop amulets, but two of Iron Bull and Varric's amulets come from dragons. Some chests still have amulets, but most don't; it's very odd that the Inquisitor's amulet in Crestwood and Cassandra's amulet in the Fallow Mire are still there, but none of the rest are. The more I'm seeing, the more this problem seems to be by design rather than accident.
I just can't believe that EA, who only has time to fix game-breaking issues, would devote time to fix "non-issues" such as the amulets or irrelevant issues such as Varric's legs. Personally I would think they would be concentrating more on broken missions, missions that trigger after there is no way to complete them, and everyone's favorite issue of the game just suddenly exiting without warning or error.

@The_Alaska_Wolf, I doubt it is by design. You still get the message "Retrieve the magister's amulet" in the Fade, but there's no amulet there. This seems to indicate that it's not by design but rather by accident (presumably when fixing the amulet exploit in Crestwood).

@arkngt Lol, I know it isn't by design, it just feels like it sometimes. I've been playing DA since Origins released November 3, 2009 and we keep going through the same thing. My primary annoyance is that major malfunctions, such as the inherent memory leak problem with DAO, never seem to get fixed.
Seriously, I would much rather the broken quests and GPU crash issues in Inquisition get fixed than having cosmetic fixes. Did the amulet exploit impact anyone or cause serious game play issues? Not that I'm aware of; personally, if people want to play that way, then whatever floats their boat.
