Northern Hunter Not Dying

So. I just had an epic fight with the Northern Hunter on Dragon Age: Inquisition except...He's not dying. His stats say he has 1 HP left. He's still attacking, still doing damage, but still standing there at 1/XXXXX HP. Also, despite being far and away disengaged from him, the game wouldn't let me save because it said I was under attack. Kind of annoying. I have a video of him not dying.

I came across this with a couple of other MOB, come to find out they were part of a quest I hadn't receved yet!

I don't think this is the case, I've seen videos of people killing him even earlier in the game than when I tried. I think it just bugged out.
