Just pinging this thread to keep it in my history. Also somewhat of a PSA to 850/860 owners: The MSAA really kills the FPS in borderless windowed mode! My 4GB Maxwell 860M can run everything in ultra / fade touched at 1920x1080 as long as I turn off MSAA entirely, and to be honest the difference isn't all that noticeable. The increase in all other visual settings is definitely worth it! I should mention that I'm not an absolute zealot for steady 60FPS, as long as I'm above 30, usually hovering around 45, I'm happy.
Geforce 840M Here on HP Pavillion. Same problem. Pleas eupdate about this problem EA!

I had success with my 2 PC's with black screen with flickering ocerlay (ie mouse or notifications )
I verified my varient of the problem was DPI related when the below fixed both of my PC's with seperatee hardware and clients.
I have high DPI settings for my dekstop environment so in windows 7 you can right click the shortcut for the game and go to compatability and check the box named [ ] Disable display scaling on high DPI settings.
