Seems to be some sort of bug, I had the same thing as one of the others described, could not get full screen, switched to windowed full screen and the window dissapeared 🙂

To all newcomers , take at least 5 minutes of your time to read a few past posts and stop advising windowed full screen as the solution.
That is not a solution because it is still a masked window mode without borders.
