Should I reinstall? I can not think for the life of me what might be wrong, my computer has adequate specs and I'm doing everything word for word. This is making me hate Origin so much! At least steam lets you play the way you want -.-

No, Steam doesn't. F'instance, you can't apply patches that aren't provided through Stream...
Personally, I refuse to use Steam for any game that doesn't absolutely require it (e.g. Skyrim, and Tomb Raider: 2013).
Your product code is valid for the EA/Origin download (no additional charge.) So if I were you, I would do a complete un-/reinstall, and stop using Steam for this game.
[EDIT: As for contacting a Customer Service Rep, that's done through the Help Center. I've used every method offered, and had excellent results from all of them.]

I played DA:Origins Ultimate through steam, never dragon age 2 because steam took it off their store. I never had issues with the console using steam, nor with patches, mods or any of the like.
Nonetheless,
I just uninstalled and reinstalled the game, went into C: drive, programe files X86 etc etc etc made a short cut, put (space)-enabledeveloperconsole in the target field and selected apply. Then again for the millionth time went to key bindings and tried to change from grave to F6, the game did not work, my characters continued to run around as I typed. I then tried X, Tilde/Kanji and Z and low and behold oh mighty origin!.....nothing happened.
Is my copy defective? should I repurchase another digital download? It cost penuts in all honesty, thats not my issue. Its all this disappointing time wasting trying to get something that "should be" simple to work.
Losing all faith. Faith in Origin would be restored if it just did its job!

I'm sorry I don't mean any offence to you. I've happily played many EA games through Origin without difficulty, the same with steam. I appreciate them equally. But the fact that there's clear solutions to my problem and that they don't work is bewildering.

Ummm...Why do you need to change the default setting at all?
And what are you typing as the new key binding?
Here's mine:
================================
OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_Grave
================================
Note that the .ini uses the NAME of the key, not the actual character.
To use the "F6" key it would be:
================================
OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_F6
================================
(And of course check that "F6" isn't assigned to something else as well... 😕mileywink: )
