Origin launcher won't patch

Blessing in disguise. Don't get the new patch - check the other threads for all the problems.

Seriously DO NOT get this patch!!!  I wish mine hadn't.  *Cries*

Concur: don't patch yet if you can avoid it. Game ran smooth as silk prior to patch, now.... not so much.

When my game tries to patch the download fails every time and I CANNOT PLAY THE GAME UNLESS IT GETS THE UPDATE. Even if it's a bad patch, now I cannot play AT ALL. Seriously. Any workarounds for this?

Any way to stop the Origin Launcher from requiring the update then?  I unchecked "Automatically keep my games up to date" but am still getting the Update Required box anytime I try to launch DAI. 

Wow, have you guys tried completely turning off the internet and then trying to play?  If not, I guess EA's stance is patch the game so it's ugly or you can't play at all!!! I would not launch origins unless you are completely cut off from the internet.

Won't launch offline either.  *sigh*

Well mine did launch offline. Logged in to origin while in the game, but it still tries to get the update and continues to give the same download error. I can, however, access the dragon age keep this way, and play too. Still, errors like this shouldn't happen. Always something with Origin. Always. :/

I am attempting a reinstall, probably just a waste of my time but at this point I am not playing anyway.  The game is way to altered and my elf looks so wrong with all her unique features missing.  What really upsets me is none of the EA staff are acknowledging these posts.  I won't be buying anymore games from EA...fool me once shame on you, fool me twice??? Not anymore. :/

Yeah, having this same problem, I think. It pauses the update at 100% and doesn't finalize it. I can tell it to play when it is paused at 100%, but that just goes to the loading screen.
