I'm up to the defense of Haven and I've noticed that all my party members have stopped using abilities and only use basic attack despite having full magic/stamina. I have checked that everything in tactics and behaviours is normal and I can only conclude it's a bug. Reloading a save from earlier hasn't helped either. Playing on Xbox One.Has anyone else experienced this?

Turning party AI on and off doesn't seem to fix it, however quitting the game and restarting did. I have experienced it briefly since but it resolved itself that time.Thinking back, I believe I may have triggered it the first time by changing the potion use limit in behaviors.Overall a very annoying bug because of it's unpredictability. Hope the devs look into this one.

i have recently come up against this bug and its a serious flaw, after a bit of testing i found a fix if you disable all abilities get into a fight and win( not bragging could be important) and then enable all abilities this has worked for me so far using all these steps i had no abilities set to preferred, i know this thread and game are old but i found a lot of threads on this thought this may still help someone out. this game holds up really well and the story is honestly the best i've ever experienced. sorry to everyone who has had to deal with this issue.

I can't say I've seen this. Try toggling off all of the AI switches then pick an easy fight. Once this is over, try manually turning it all back on again and see if it has any effect.

I can't say I've seen this. Try toggling off all of the AI switches then pick an easy fight. Once this is over, try manually turning it all back on again and see if it has any effect.

Same here and I suspect it's related with adding/resetting skills or changing tactics.
Temporal solution is to shutdown/start game, pretty annoying...

Yeah, some people don't see it which makes it frustrating. I noticed it last night after respecing iron bull, so it may be tied to folks who love to respec their characters a lot like me.

Hope this gets fixed. Super annoying bug. In some of these cases restarting or reinstalling hasn't helped - essentially breaking the game.

After an 80 hour playthrough and 30 hours into my second one I got this bug on my second character. I have been tinkering with all tactics, behaviors, different party members, items, everything, nothing worked.
Then I loaded up my first character and party members aren't attacking with my first character either.

I think I found a solution.
From Xbox menu go to My games and apps.
Press start on Inquisition and select manage game.
Scroll right to your profile and select saved data.
You should see "delete from console" and "delete from everywhere"
I deleted from console, then started inquisition again. Upon starting up it synced game data (downloads the saves from cloud storage) I loaded my most recent save and boom.
Companions are using their abilities again.
