If anyone does try to reinstall the game, your save games will be intact and fine in your Bioware folder in My Documents. But you will NOT be able to play any old game saves if you do not install the new patch. Not even any save games you had before you installed the patch. It will just come up saying you played it on a newer version of the game so quit and update and try again, which you don't want to do as new patch made game unplayable. I just started a new game and perfomance is back up to what it was.
