Patch made performance MUCH worse

Prior to today's patch, the hitching was annoying, but the game was playable. Now, the game randomly pauses for about 3 seconds every few seconds. It does this at the title screen, while playing, i...

Ah I have the digital deluxe copy, so whenever I download it it must download the patch also?
That is my guess as well. I also have the digital deluxe, and I tried the clean install with auto-update turned off. Did not help, so I was thinking the download must have the updates built-in or they push the update right along with the main game files.
That sucks ☹️ I can't even play pre-patch. They have got to fix it...
They really, really do. I was reluctant to try reinstall but then figured it surely must install base game from disk as only base info is on them. I feel for you, I really do. For everyone who is currently unable to play. It is atrocious for this to happen. Has there even been any official annoucement stating they're aware of it yet?

EA_David has been closing other posts regarding these issues and directing people to this thread. So they are aware of it, just not actually addressing it.

EA_David has been closing other posts regarding these issues and directing people to this thread. So they are aware of it, just not actually addressing it.

Yeah, I've been wandering threads too that's exactly what they're doing. He says to check the suggestions on this thread and if it doesn't work post your dxdiag, current games settings, and whether fullscreen windowed etc.

You know what, there are so many of use already posting full details about our problems here. How about they read those and realize that their patch broke this game for us. Undo it!!!!!!! None of the suggestions work.
