The only thing that has helped me (after trying everything else in this thread and nothing working) was to open task manager, select view processes for all users, and end windows media player, Google installer, and a couple of other random things. When I do that I run smooth for a good while. When I start lagging again, I reopen task manager and close all that **bleep** again, because it seems to restart itself after a while. Hope this helps someone.
