Figured I'd contribute a screen grab of my GPU usage. This was taken while i assigned quests in the war room, saved, and then exited the game. Before the patch the GPU usage would drop only during loading screens and would stay consistantly high during any actual gamplay, menus, etc. Something is causing a persistant drop in GPU usage which naturally results in 0 FPS.
Everyone I know who has the PC version of DAI is experiencing this hitching so I'm surprised it doesn't feel more widespread on the internet and a bigger concern to Bioware. I'm curious to what people w/o the issues are running as my friends and I have a variety of different enthusiast grade hardware and have tried disabling numerous software based aplications that sometimes cause performance issues (like MSI afterburner) to no avail.

My GTX 680 oc/oc runs pretty much constantly at 99% with ultra and fade touched and no MSAA.
I am going to upgrade to a GTX 970 and see how much that changes things.
I am really surprised though at the high GPU usage. Strangely when I look at the ground the FPS stays the same and GPU is still at 99%.
My i7 3770k OC to 4.5ghz is usually at about 40-50% and the game doesn't look to use all 8 threads, but to be honest I havent looked at the monitor to see if the game uses more than 4.
I don't have the issues that many other users have and for that I am fortunate.

DAI worked perfectly before the patch. He's unplayable since.. 100% cpu used : Freeze on loading screen/in game too.
Specs : GeForce GTX770 driver nvidia 344.75
intel core i5-4570 CPU 3.20ghz
8 go RAM
Windows 7
Bioware fix it as soon as possible plz !

I had GTX 770 and I made upgrade on GTX 970 and this didn´t change a think, the problem is not in GPU, it is with the game draining CPU, if I would try to play in this moment on High/Ultra details would most possibly kill my CPU and I could hope, only CPU.

I recommend people with this problem to NOT try to run this game until it's fixed. And here’s why.
I noticed I have a process related to USB 3 taking 25% of the CPU's time all the time. Don't no why it never use to. I don't use USB 3 so I disabled USB 3 in the BIOS, killed the process and ran the game. The first time I ran it for about 2 hours with no problems at all. Didn't notice any better performance for having the CPU almost maxed out in usage, and before Patch #2 game ran good. But the next day when I tried to play the game it blue screened just before it finished loading my last save and I had to “Use last known good configuration” to get windows to boot. I got lucky and didn't have any file corruption or lose of data that I've noticed. I'm not going to temp fate just to play this. And I'm not going to reinstall and have to start all over again either. So save your selves the trouble and possible computer damage and don't run the game until it's fixed. Has to be the worst update/software in history. I've never had anything crash a computer like this game is doing.
