Yes, there has. Most people are ignoring the posts made by EA_David. Use CClearner to clean out installation garbage and fix your registry and the game will run like normal again.

I would disagree with "ignoring" the suggestion of using a 3rd party program to fix a patch issue.
As with the majority of the other suggestions, none of them are working for most. (I personally have tried every single random idea anyone has posted.)
Not to be cynical, but I just formatted and reinstalled windows... Let see if that fixes it. I'm betting no, but will report back later.

Following up with this post.
I got the game working smoothly as before.
I unfortunately (or fortunately, if you don't mind a clean install) reinstalled windows to fix this issue. I'd hate to suggest something as extreme as this, but this has been the only thing that has worked for me thus far.
Just fyi -
- reinstalled windows
- installed nvida graphics driver ONLY (not physx or any other option)
- installed origin, dragon age (digital deluxe), and it's required installation files (yes, this is currently up to date with patch 2)
- no drivers for my 360 wired controller or razer tartarus or logitech g9x have been installed as of yet
- did not install steam, uplay, curse, skype, etc
- did not connect to dragon age server
- did not import dragon age keep
- did not use any command lines in game properties
- origin cloud storage is enabled
- my set up is i5 2500k, 12g ram, 970 g1 gaming, all settings on automatic (ultra)
Not sure if this helps anyone else, but will slowly try to install the drivers for my devices and make connections and follow up again.
Good luck all.
