I got the deluxe version for Christmas and I was very excited! However, getting through the initial cinematics was arduous, but I persevered. When I finally got to the part where I go to escort Cass to the rift, I can take a single step before it locks up on me for a few seconds. Then I can take another step. At first I thought it was something with my computer, and I kept changing settings and such to try to fix it. Finally I looked online to see if others were having this problem and found this thread. I am glad that it isn't my computer being buggy, but I would like to play the game.
As would 99% of the PC community Lohjind...Apparently it is in the coding of the game and no matter what settings etc you change the problem will be there untill they decide to patch the game, which we have been told is happening but when is anyones guess 😕mileymad: this is all third party stuff because we have not had a real offical response in the forum that I have seen...😕mileyfrustrated: In a week I have only been able to do 17 hours and I think most of that was waiting to take the next few steps lmao 😕mileywink: Anyway we have no choice but to wait for the problem to be fixed 😕mileysad: but lucky we are not on Playstations or XBox's in my news this morning those networks are still down from the hacker lol :robotmad:
Just chiming in to say that while I have the same 100% CPU spikes, switching to "windowed fullscreen" has so far resolved most of my issues. I still get occaisional stutter spikes for a second or two, but nothing like before and they always recover immediately instead of hanging forever. Performance is actually much smoother overall, even though the game isn't running in crossfire mode since that requires true fullscreen. Still, it's a tradeoff I'm willing to make so that I can actually play the game.
