Prior to today's patch, the hitching was annoying, but the game was playable. Now, the game randomly pauses for about 3 seconds every few seconds. It does this at the title screen, while playing, in conversation, even in menus. When the pause happens, it sounds like the fan on my video card stops or slows down. I tried other games, and none are exhibiting this behavior. The game is not even playable for me, in its current state.

For those who are still reporting diminished performance after the patch, please take the steps Trooperr2 posted, to start.

Do all of these steps listed below in that order. When finished with each step re launch origin and accept the user agreement and when it has verified your games right click inquisition and check for updates. After you have tried this, please check again. If the issue persists, please post a hastebin link to your dxdiag.
Please also include your graphics settings, including Mesh, Tesselation, Texure quality and so on, as well as whether you're playing in Windowed/Fullscreen.
Have tried all of the above. Disabling the Rapid Storage Technology worked for about 5 minutes until I entered the Skyhold War table room. None of the others worked.
My graphics settings are all on Ultra and I play Fullscreen. The game worked perfectly before the patch on these settings.
I've had more crashes, usually when loading to a next area, MOSTLY when loading into Skyhold. Quite a few momentary screen freezes, more than before. And things the patch was supposed to fix, among one having to right click at the war table to get anything to work, does NOT work. In other words it still does what it did before. I actually hadn't had as many issues prior to the patch as I do now. I'm on my second playthrough and after this, I'm done with the game until Patch 50.........if that is how long it takes you to get it all fixed!! Should have never released this game in it's current state. You really should have average joe beta testers using various levels of PCs........the consoles...........I cannot concieve that each one is that different, and that you didn't test it thoroughly to know there were no issues. So I'm done. I learned my lesson about buying a 1.0 game from Bioware. Perhaps from now on I will either wait a year or two and the value is what it should be!! 😕mileymad:
The patch has rendered the game unplayable for me with consistent stuttering, hitching and freezing (upwards of 10 seconds or more) while trying to play the game. It was working perfectly before the patch and hotfix were applied. I have tried running ccleaner, clearing the Origin Cache, Running a clean reboot, turning down mouse sensitivity and every other potential fix posted either here or on the Bioware forums. Nothing has worked.
I'm running a i5-4670 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 8GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 770. 344.75 Drivers. Graphic settings are:

Do we have any idea how long this is going to take to fix or is there a verified method of rolling back the patch from Origin?
I have an i5-2500k. I was running at about 25% CPU usage, without Dragon Age Running. I tried going into msconfig and disabling all unnecessary services and startup processes, and rebooted. The stuttering was completely gone. I think that it is Western Digital backup software causing the excess CPU usage, but that still doesn't explain why the game worked much better before the patch. Thanks for the reply though. I wouldn't have though to remove some services/processes otherwise.
I have tried everything at this stage. Everything suggested here and from other sources on other forums and Reddit. Unless they release a way for us to rollback the patch then I will not be able to play this game. I can barely get by the main menu now, and when I do, the stuttering/hitching renders it completely unplayable. What a complete waste of 70 euro.
Did some testing and noticed my USB 3 Monitor process is running at 25% CPU usage all the time. After killing this service DAI stopped pausing. CPU usage for DAI just sitting on the main menu averages 75-81%. But when I clicked on continue and just before it should have stopped loading my computer blue screened. Which is the first time that has happened. I don't know if my USB 3 process has always run at 25%, but nothing else seems to be afftected by it. So looks like DAI is requiring more CPU time than it did before patch #2 or somehow the patch has caused my USB 3 process to take up more CPU time.
I have some relatively older hardware (i5 3470, nVidia 560ti), but even so, pre-patch the game ran great for me. Post-patch the game ran great for me. Then the hotfix came and suddenly it's unplayable due to stutter. Oh, and I lost all my savegames too. Hopefully they fix it soon, I was enjoying myself up until now.
I came back today hoping a new patch would be out to fix this maxed processor problem. Like everyone else, was fine and happy before the patch, now I can't even play the game. I even put it at the lowest possible graphic levels (looks like some old 80's game) and it still locks up at 100%.
Tried the couple of "hey try this" ideas on this posting, but so far, nothing works.
