[PC] - Dragon Age II cannot sign in to EA account (says I am offline)

Dragon Age 2 cannot connect to internet

So I got Dragon age 2 from a CD and the installation was fine but then I had problems with SecuROM. After this I downloaded the latest patch of DA2 from this link: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/dlc-for-classic-games/#dragonage

This fixed the SecuROM issue but now I am being asked to sign in to an EA account.

When I try logging in it says my email/password is wrong (they're not, I logged in on Chrome and that worked) and if I press create account I get an error saying I am not connected to the internet despite the fact that I am (see attached). Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • Hey, @jjules_c This could go a couple of different ways. With these codes, you don't need the CD anymore especially if you used a code. If you have the game in the EA app, that is suggested to be used not the CD. The CD is based off of Origin which was pre all the things.

For this error, the steps below typically resolve this.

    Delete EA License Files:

    • Make sure the EA app is closed.
    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    • Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER.
    • Enable View Hidden Files and Folders
    • Delete all files in the "License" folder.

    Please clear your temp files:

    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time
    • Into the new window, type or copy & paste: "%temp%" (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
    • Your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
    • (If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)

    Optional:

    • Go here and download "Revo Uninstaller". (The freeware version and portable version work too.)
    • Run "Revo Uninstaller" > Uninstall DAI.
    • At the end of the main uninstall, Revo will ask you which cleaning method you want to use. > Select "Moderate" > Browse
    • If "Remaining registration content found" is displayed > Select All > Delete > Next
    • When "Remaining Data and Folders" is displayed > Select All > Delete
    • Run "Revo Uninstaller" > Uninstall EA Desktop.

@EA_ShepardThank you for your reply. The DVD-Rom had a code inside which I used. I used neither Origin nor the EA app store.

    @Alyz42

Repair the game or redeem the CD key in EA app and download a digital copy.

(EA app: My Collection > Click on the three dots on the game cover > Repair)
(Steam: Game Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

    Then:

    • Make sure EA app and Steam are closed.
(Not just minimised siting in the try, completely closed!)
    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    • Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER
    • Delete the "License" folder.
    • Test

@Alyz42 Hey, let's see if we can figure this out.

When you bought the game, did you use a code or did you buy it from Origin or through the EA app store?

I've run into the same issue as the original poster (installed the game from a DVD-Rom) and followed @EA_Shepard's solution but, unfortunately, it didn't work. (Also followed the optional part. DAI wasn't installed so I couldn't uninstall it, but I uninstalled EA-App).

It still wants me to sign into my EA-Account. When I type in my mail/password, there's a validation process which fails. It then asks me to enter the product key (see screenshot) but when I click on that it just says I'm not connected to the internet.

    I'm at a loss.

Is there any other possible way?
