Also another stab in the dark here, but....
black tuesday was last week. (the first tues day of every month when microsoft releases it's updates and patches)
microsoft released a "silver bullet" hotfix for an earlier update. and for some people the earlier update was preventing them from loading/installing any driver, .dll, or the like. Or causing UAC faults, and odd behaviors, etc.
read the article, and follow the instructions, to see if you still have the old update listed in your installed updates. if so, uninstall it, and manually download and install the new one.
this may affect everyone who has been uninstalling and re-installing thier GPU drivers.... and them not being properly installed.
Resurrecting this old thread to say that I still can't play the game for more than 20 minutes without a no-error CTD.
PC specs again, just in case there's something really incompatible:
Windows 8.1
AMD A8-3870 (3GHz, quad core)
GTX 660
16 GB DDR3
I've done all the recommended fixes/tricks I could find, and nothing is reliably working. Just wanted to bring attention to it again.

Hi foneshome,
Like you I had constant CTDs anywhere from 5 to 30mins of game time. Since doing the following, I have'nt had a CTD in over 20 hours of gameplay.
1. Uninstalled virus scanner (Was using MSE)
2. Disable Origin Overlay
3. Go offline in game as well as the Origin client.
4. Disable all unnecessary background processes and services. For me this included some webcam software, teamviewer, and a few other bits and pieces.
5. Reinstalled nVidia drivers only with the graphics and physx options.
6. Don't have any browser windows open (I notice once the game locked up when CTRL-ALT-DEL the browser had stopped responding [Firefox]).. Also make sure no media players are currently active such as VLC.
7. Run the game in fullscreen window mode
I couldn't honestly tell you which of the above fixed the CTDs for me, as it could be any combination. Of course, this may not work for you but I hope it helps.

A big huge thanks for the suggestions, mr_zen, but I've tried all of that and then some ☹️
This is a first for a PC game experience with me, so it's really frustrating. I just have to assume that something is really wrong with the game and my PC configuration, and either wait for the next patch or try again when I change my PC build.
The game is awesome, too, which makes this all the more aggravating! Why couldn't this have happened with a game I didn't like? 🙂
