Now that I have switched back to my Nvidia hardware, I have given up on the game.
I will however, update the original post, with any new and relevant information I receive,
and bump the thread whenever I do.
I am spending waaaay to much time here, and not enjoying the 60FPS,
ultra settings, and no crashing on my other games.
look for an update or two later this week. cheers.

You have helped in some many ways, downgraded my drivers last nIght as per your suggestion and managed to swing an afternoon playing after I'd dumped the small person at a friends, no crashes, no stutters, currently working perfectly.... You are a star sir and once again thank you for all your help.
