I've at last found an effective FIX for my DAI issues. (GTX 660Ti)
My problem was constant CTD's with no error message or sometimes the Direct X error. I'd tried everything and anything before I read this somewhere on this forum. I cant find the post now which is a pity because I would like to thank the guy so much!!!!
The key for me was to savagely underclock the Graphics Card MEMORY as well as the Core Clock. I'm using a Memory underclock of 120 and a Core underclock of 50.
I havent noticed any FPS issues and it now seems rock stable apart from game play bugs. (Cross fingers and Famous Last Words etc etc!!) Im back on High for most settings and no longer have to disable Origin. I have kept the Frame Rate limit of 30 though in my user.config.
Some of these 'fixes' are ludicrous.
I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would do some of these suggestions when the PC in question runs absolutely every other piece of software fine. Why would you have to mangle your PC just to get a game working. The more I read the more incredulous this becomes. Totally ruined my experience of DAI. Get your act together Bioware and EA. We are STILL WAITING for you to fix this mess.

Ok.. so it seems as if this was all caused by their patch... did they not save a copy of everything without their own patch? Can they not just take the unbroken game data.... send it out to everyone to delete the update they did and revert us back to the game before the patch?

I was baffled to hear people are underclocking their GPU's, and updating to Windows 8. MAYBE THERE IS A LOGICAL REASON YOU CAN PLAY OTHER DEMANDING GAMES FINE BUT NOT THIS ONE, HERP DERP. Some people just don't grasp the thought, that it is the poor developement of the game they bought.
- Anonymous11 years agoWell all I can say is that for me by under clocking the graphics card I went from a game that was pretty much unplayable even with the lowest settings due to CTD!s to a game which runs flawlessly at High settings. And before I did it I'd tried just about every damn suggestion out there!!! I would seriously suggest people who have a GTX 660Ti and who are suffering CTD,s with no error message give it a go.
The under clock I am using is:
-Memory Clock. -120
-Core Clock -50
-fFrame Rates capped at 35fps
Weirdly it also seems to have fixed the Party Banter issue. Since doing this I have not had one single CTD or freeze in hours of play.
For anyone with an Nvidia Card who wants to try it this is what I would suggest:
1) Uninstall and wipe clean the existing NVidia driver
2) Reinstall the driver
3) Delete the file ProfileOptions_profiles in the Saves folder.
4) Start Afterburner or equivalent over clocking utility and apply the underclocks as suggested above.
5) Start the game and apply your desired Graphics settings.
Optionally you can create a user.cfg file as suggested elsewhere in this thread and use just the line which caps your frame rate. 35fps is fine for me at High Settings.
No, I should not have to do it but until NVidia produce a driver which is stable for all cards at least I can enjoy the game. By the way the issue I had was not due to the card overheating.- Anonymous11 years ago

I've done so many updates, tricks, reading over and over the system reqs and getting the same answer that I meet the demands of the game that I've given up on trying. Nice to know you spend money on the game supporting the gaming company and get nothing in return, feel kinda cheated here.
- Anonymous11 years agoThey do nothing because its a offline singleplayer game. Its out now a month and nobody cares about it anymore. If it was a mmo or a other online game more gameinfo sites would be write news about bugs etc. They dont earn money if they would work on a patch, we already paid for the game. All work now in this game is a loss for them. But that is just my opinion.

well I still care about it. about 90 hours in my first character on the save and maybe about halfway through the game, haven't even netered 3 or 4 of the high level zones or saved the empress yet sheesh. and they'll work on it, it was just unfortunate timing releasing a broken patch too close to 2 stupid big holidays back to back. it'll be pushing the end of january by the time we gett his fixed because of the timing. there should truly be a rollback function for these kinds of patches. reminds me of skyrim and why it took me a year to play it even, just to realize it couldn't stand beside morrowind or oblivion lol. (modded anyways). skyrim was effectively broken ( though not as bad when it came to crashing besides the bethesda crashes people were used to by then) for months I heard at a point due to a couple of broken patches during a point int ime. pc anyways. I heard console also had it's fair share of issues including bloated saves becoming corrupted. unfortunately crashes and leaks due to misallocation don't really help you soldier on past bugs. none of which I encountered yet, bugs, just these darn crashes with the darn patch. reinstalls just waste your time even disabling all update options, it installs and also repairs to the patch point unfortunately.
