Thanks for all your help to me and to others! I hope you have a safe and Happy New Year. 🙂
Thank you, and for a lack of being able to word it any more eloquently... (and space saving)
Ditto!
Happy Holidays, and New Year! 🙂
Its definately a game code issue. I have said this many times before but briefly. Just after release there was a 0-day patch which im not sure was classed as patch 1. Anyway I played for 105 hours and did a pretty much complete playthrough with mild issues like 2 silent CTDs and a couple of areas where my fps would dip to 55 or so.
I obviously gave it a break after the first playthrough. a few weeks later I decided to play again but I wanted to chose another path ingame (No spoilers) and play as a Dwarf, I started anotherplaythrough and the game patched up. Character creater seemed the same but I instantly noticed that I was getting a fps hit but I plodded on until the point of Hinterlands. Hinterlands is pretty much a mess now and my fps has gone from a more or less constand 60 fps on ultra to 35 if I am lucky.
The game now stutters, freezes, ctds with dx errors and many other issues. I thought it could be my old install of Windows as It was more than due for a re-install (2 Years old) So I re-installed Windows 7 x64 on my SSD as I had been meaning to do this since I bought an SSD. I then put Dragon Age Inquisition on the SSD and tried it and to my complete horror, it was worse than before!
Just like to add that I have 35 years of knowledge of computers and building them since the kit form of the ZX-80, I do know my way around them 🙂
My specs are briefly: i5 4690k @4.2, GTX 770 Jetstream (Factory OC), 8GB 1866 HyperX,Samsung SSD,1TB WD HDD, X-FI Sound Card.
Its the game people and theirs nothing you can do. You can tweak to your hearts content and you may steal the odd fps and you may be barely able to play but I wouldnt spoil it and just wait for Bioware to patch the game. I am sure they are fully aware of these issues and are working hard to fix them but lets not forget that we are in the holiday season and even they deserve a break.
